Dynamics week two things started to get interesting. Creating moving water! Although we didn’t get into the rendering side of water it was very fun to play with the forces, weights and movements of liquid.
Our first exercise was to create an old fashion water wheel and have water flow over it to make it turn under the weight of the water. Using a emitter and creating water particles we could simulate water and control how it flowed. As you can see below Ive modeled a simple pipe above the wheel that does nother really, the magic is in the emitter that ive placed at the tip of the pipe. Playing around with its attributes we have little white blobs interacting with the wheel just like water. The wheel starts off still but begins to rotate under the weight of the water. This was a fun and interesting exercise that I can see will lead to a lot more interesting exercises.
